Full range of dry bulk chartering options
The new offering was created in response to demand for chartering which had in the past had to be met by external brokers. GAC Sri Lanka’s chartering service connects shippers with a network of trusted dry bulk vessel owners, enabling them to fix terms for dry and breakbulk cargo such as gypsum, coal, mineral ores, cement, steel, chemical, grain and project heavy lift shipments. It helps Sri Lankan importers and exporters expand their operations through a secure and independent operating platform, regardless of fluctuating market conditions.
From demise, voyage and time charter to contract of affreightment, a full range of flexible options is available. It draws on the GAC global network to tailor services to the specific freight, route, time scale and single/multiple voyage needs of its clients. As such it can secure shipments from all trade from the Americas to China-Japan range, Persian Gulf to East Africa, southwest Africa to India-Persian Gulf-southeast Asia and the Red Sea to Persian Gulf-Japan range. With the group’s global coverage, shippers can benefit from a wide range of services from agency, husbandry through to delivery of spares, fuel and provisions at both loading and discharging ports.
As part of the GAC Group, GAC Sri Lanka is committed to conducting business with the utmost regard to ethical practices and environmental sustainability, including full compliance with the IMO 2020 sulfur cap and other environmental regulations. All vessels used for the charter service must also meet such standards.
The dedicated charter department is staffed by professionals with more than 25 years’ experience of global chartering of Panamax, Supramax, Ultramax, Handysize and project/heavy lift vessels, including those equipped to handle semi-submersible projects. That wealth of expertise and experience enables us to provide counsel on freight market trends and develop strategised initiatives for specific business models. We recommend the best options for clients, depending on their cargo and other requirements to deliver competitive and reliable transportation.
