A yacht race will take place at the Victoria Harbour, at about 1340 to 1730 hours on 7 September (Saturday) and 1050 to 1730 hours on 8 September (Sunday) with a fallback day at 1050 to 1730 hours on 22 September (Sunday). About 100 yachts are expected to participate in the race.
The race consists of two routes. About 85 yachts will sail in a clockwise direction from Hung Hom, Kowloon Bay, Yau Tong, Shau Kei Wan, North Point, Causeway Bay, Wan Chai, Tsim Sha Tsui and Hung Hom (Sketch 1 refers).
About 15 yachts will sail easterly in anti-clockwise direction from Hung Hom to Shek O Rock along the Hong Kong Island side and then sail back to Hung Hom along the Kowloon side (Sketch 2 refers).
Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navigating in the vicinity of the race routes should proceed with caution, giving practical consideration to the contestants. Compliance with the provisions of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972 is mandatory.
