Withdrawal of Force Majeure

11 Dec 2023 / Kattupalli, India

On 7 December, Kattupalli port had declared Force Majeure with effect from 3 December in light of Cyclone Michaung which was classified as a severe cyclone by Indian Meteorological Department which crossed the South Andhra Pradesh coast over Bapatla on 5 December.

During this time there was complete failure of power supply from Tamil Nadu electricity board and no operation was possible. To mitigate the effect of Force Majeure event on our stakeholders we had berthed vessel at Kattupalli port at 1800 hours on 5 Deember. However due to unavailability of power supply we were restricted in operations using only 2 QC on DG back up supply from Kattupalli port.

Power supply from TN electricity board is restored at Kattupalli port and we have resumed all operations and endeavor to provide best possible services to our stakeholders.

In view of the above, we would like to hereby inform you about the cessation of the Force Majeure event notified by notice dated 7 December.

Kattupali port will not be liable for claims, damages, charges, etc whatsoever arising out and/or connected to the above Force Majeure event either directly or indirectly which without any limitations would include pre- berthing and any delay during vessel operations for vessels that are awaiting in the anchorage and/or arriving at the port in due course.
