A windsurfing competition will take place in the Victoria Harbour on 3 November 2024 from 0900 to 1630 hours. About 100 windsurfers are expected to participate in the competition.
During the aforementioned period, a race area will be formed by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22 deg. 17.700’N / 114 deg. 10.584’E
(B) 22 deg. 17.700’N / 114 deg. 10.821’E
(C) 22 deg. 17.538’N / 114 deg. 10.484’E
(D) 22 deg. 17.581’N / 114 deg. 10.484’E
The windsurfers will sail from Tsim Sha Tsui Landing No. 2 (KP030) to the race area and return after finishing the race. Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navigating in the vicinity should keep away from the race area and proceed with caution, giving practical consideration to the contestants. Compliance with the provisions of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 is mandatory.
Tsim Sha Tsui Landing No. 2 (KP030) will be temporarily closed for securing a floating structure during the event period. Owners and coxswains of vessels are advised to keep away from the floating structure and use other landing facilities in the vicinity during the period of closure.
