Vessel operations in Mumbai & JNPT resumed yesterday evening (6 August) after being suspended on 5 August due to heavy rain and adverse weather conditions.
The intensity of rain that pounded Mumbai and neighbouring areas over the past two days had reduced by yesterday midday. While some areas which witnessed a record rain on Wednesday were still inundated, water receded in most other parts of the city leading to a gradual resumption of rail and road transport. Moderate to heavy rainfall in the city and suburbs and intense showers in the next 24 hours.
