Vessel calls during monsoon season

24 Apr 2023 / Jaigarh Port

With regards to vessel calls at JSW Jaigarh Port during monsoon season (15 May 2023 to 15 September 2023), we request you to follow certain procedures for hassle free operations:

  1. Usually mooring pattern is 4+2 (Forward and Aft) here for vessel size up to Panamax and 4+3 (Forward and Aft) for Capesize vessels. In monsoon season keep 2 ropes forward and 2 ropes aft on deck in addition to the normal mooring pattern.
  2. Please plan additional manpower for regular watch on stations forward and aft to keep tending the ropes. Plan your deck watches and rest hours accordingly.
  3. Keep all ropes equally tight to spread the weight evenly.
  4. Leave certain margin for the ropes to stretch to avoid breaking.
  5. Avoid doing any maintenance of equipment while alongside to keep the vessel in readiness all the time.
  6. Please note that immobilization of main engine will not be allowed during stay at port.
  7. Keep strict watches on VHF Ch-11 for Marine Control Tower Jaigarh Port.
