The total number of vessels to have transited the Suez Canal in the six days since the vessel blocking the waterway was refloated (30 March-4 April) was 532, an average of 85 transits per day.
The new schedule for today (5 April), with direct convoys from both ends in order to resume normal traffic as before, is for 44 vessels (22 in each direction).
As per available information from the Suez Canal Authority, arrangements for transits for ships waiting at Port Said and Suez tomorrow (6 April) will be as follows:
SOUTHBOUND CONVOY
- 0530 hours local time: about 22 ships will enter the Canal with free run until exiting from Suez.
- 2200 hours local time: about 20 ships will enter the Canal and wait at Great Bitter Lakes anchorages.
NORTHBOUND CONVOY
- 0600 hours local time: about 22 ships will enter the Canal with free run until exiting from Port Said.
- 2200 hours local time: about 16 ships will enter the Canal and will wait at Great Bitter Lakes anchorages.
Convoy arrangements are subject to change from time-to-time.
