Tug operator to leave port

17 Dec 2020 / Geelong, Australia

Tug operator Svitzer Australia has confirmed that after a two-week consultation period, Svitzer has decided to proceed to exit the port of Geelong on 21 December 2020.

From 20:00 hours on Monday 21 December, towage services in the port will continue with the alternative towage provider. Svitzer will continue to honour its contracts with customers, including discounts, despite not physically operating in the port.

Exiting the Port of Geelong does not affect Svitzer’s other ports or operations around Australia.
