23 Oct 2024 / Hong Kong
Tropical Cyclone Trami to the east of the Philippines is forecast to intensify gradually and enter within 800 kilometres of Hong Kong late tomorrow (24 October) to early Friday (25 October). The Observatory will then issue the Standby Signal, No. 1.
Trami is forecast to move west in the general direction to the vicinity of Hainan Island. Meanwhile, a replenishment of the northeast monsoon will reach southern China towards the weekend.
Depending on the movement of Trami and the change in local wind conditions, the Observatory will assess the need for issuing the Strong Wind Signal, No. 3.
