The risk of Tropical Low 05U forming and affecting the Pilbara coast has been downgraded.
All ports are at Open Stage. Port Hedland is now at Cyclone Alert Stage 1 – Monitor.
There were indications that tropical low 05U could form around the Timor Sea and move towards the southwest during the week. There is enhanced thunderstorm activity over Browse Basin and Timor Sea but no tropical low has formed.
Recent guidance has continued to downgrade the chance of tropical low (05U) forming and developing. TC ratings have been decreased, and there is only a Low (10%) risk for Friday to Sunday. If the guidance continues to agree on 05U not forming and developing, then the TC ratings will be reduced further.
