Transit tolls increase announced

The Suez Canal Authority has announced their intention to increase normal Canal transit tolls from 15 January 2024.

This includes an increase of 15% on normal Suez Canal transit dues for the following:
- crude oil tankers
- petroleum product tankers
- Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) carriers
- Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carriers
- chemical & other liquid bulk tankers
- container ships
- cruise ships
- special floating units

It also includes a 5% increase on normal Suez Canal transit dues by 5% for the following:
- dry bulk vessels
- general cargo vessels
- roll-on/roll-off (ro/ro) vessels
- other vessels

Containerships coming directly coming from ports in North-West Europe and directly heading to ports at the Far East are exempted from the above.
