The working period for a tidal energy trial off Pulau Satumu has been extended and will now continue until 1 June.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.39 of 2024, the trial is being conducted 24 hours daily - including Sundays & public holidays - off Pulau Satumu, at the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1 01⁰ 09.468’N / 103⁰ 44.492’E
2 01⁰ 09.440’N / 103⁰ 44.532’E
3 01⁰ 09.330’N / 103⁰ 44.456’E
4 01⁰ 09.358’N / 103⁰ 44.416’E
A barge is deployed at the working area to carry out the trial and data collection.
Safety boats are deployed to warn other craft to keep clear of the area during working hours.
Craft involved in the works exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a. Keep well clear and not to enter the work area;
b. Maintain a proper lookout;
c. Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d. Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (West Control); and
e. Communicate with West control for assistance, if required.
