Testing of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle off Tanah Merah

From 29 August to 31 October, testing of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) will be carried out off Tanah Merah.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.78 of 2023 dated 29 August 2023, the work is being conducted between 0900 and 1800 hours daily - excluding Sundays & public holidays - within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1 01⁰ 18.582’N / 103⁰ 58.385’E
2 01⁰ 18.426’N / 103⁰ 58.433’E
3 01⁰ 18.346’N / 103⁰ 58.121’E
4 01⁰ 18.505’N / 103⁰ 58.072’E

The AUV will be deployed and recovered by a work boat for tests off Tanah Merah. A safety boat will be deployed to warn other craft to keep clear of the area during working hours.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the work area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 (East Control);
and
e) Communicate with East Control for assistance, if required.
