Testing of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle off Raffles Reserved Anchorage

The working period for testing of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) off Raffles Reserved Anchorage has been extended, and will now be conducted until 31 October.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.79 of 2023 dated 29 August 2023, the testing is being carried out between 0900 and 1800 hours daily – excluding Sundays and Public Holidays - within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1 01° 09.790'N / 103° 45.285'E
2 01° 09.951'N / 103° 45.133'E
3 01° 10.235'N / 103° 45.400’E
4 01° 10.085'N / 103° 45.559’E

The AUV will be deployed and recovered by a work boat for tests off the Raffles Reserved anchorage. A safety boat will be deployed to warn other craft to keep clear of the of the area during working hours.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (West Control);
and
e) Communicate with West Control for assistance, if required.
