Testing of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV)

With effect from 31 August 2020 to 11 September 2020, testing of autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) will be conducted off St John’s Island, within the working area bounded by the following coordinates:

  1. 1 deg. 13.133'N / 103 deg. 51.137'E
  2. 1 deg. 12.960'N / 103 deg. 51.229'E
  3. 1 deg. 12.925'N / 103 deg. 51.137'E

Works will be conducted daily from 0900H to 1800H, including Sundays and Public Holidays.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

A workboat will deploy and recover the AUV. A safety boat will be in attendance at all times to warn and keep crafts in the vicinity clear of the working area.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:

a) Keep well clear of and not to enter the working area;

b) Maintain a proper lookout;

c) Proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution;

d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (West Control);

e) Communicate with West Control on VHF Channel 68 for assistance, if required.
