Testing of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle

From 27 to 30 November, testing on an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) will be carried out off St John’s Island.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.110 of 2023, the testing will be carried out between 0900 and 1800 hours daily, within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1 1° 13.133’N / 103° 51.137’E
2 1° 12.960’N / 103° 51.229’E
3 1° 12.925’N / 103° 51.137’E

A workboat with a lift crane will be used to deploy and recover the AUV.

The workboat will also act as a safety boat after deployment and will always be in attendance during the AUV trial.

Craft involved in the testing will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the work area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 (East Control);
e) Communicate with East Control on channel 12 for assistance, if required.
