Testing of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle

From 15 May to 30 June, testing of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) is being conducted off Raffles Reserved Anchorage.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.43 of 2023, the testing is being carried out between 0900 and 1800hrs daily - excluding Sundays & public holiday - within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1 01⁰ 09.790’N / 103⁰ 45.285’E
2 01⁰ 09.951’N / 103⁰ 45.133’E
3 01⁰ 10.235’N / 103⁰ 45.400’E
4 01⁰ 10.085’N / 103⁰ 45.559’E

The AUV will be deployed and recovered by a work boat for tests off Raffles Reserved anchorage.

A safety boat will be deployed to warn other craft to keep clear of the area during working hours.

Craft involved in the testing will exhibit the appropriate local and international day signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the work area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (West Control);
and
e) Communicate with West control for assistance, if required.
