Temporary closure of central pier and oil & marine refuse cleansing demonstration

Central Pier No. 9 will be temporarily closed on 6 October 2024 between 0900 hours and 1830 hours to facilitate an exhibition of two Marine Department vessels, “MARINE 1” and “HYDRO 2” for celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

There will also be two sessions of oil and marine refuse cleansing demonstration taking place in the waters between Central Pier No. 8 and Central Pier No. 9 on that day.

Owners, operators, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels are advised to use other piers in the vicinity during the period of closure and give a wide berth to the demonstration fleet.
