Temporary closure of airport

Commercial and cargo services at Grand Bahamas International Airport ceased at 8:00pm local time last night (9 October) and will remain closed until Hurricane Milton passes.

Airport services are expected to resume at 10:00am on Friday (11 October), pending a full assessment of the aerodrome and the ‘all-clear’ being given.

In addition, all government offices, ports and local business establishments are closed due to the hurricane, including Bahamas Customs, Bahamas Immigration, Freeport Harbor Company, Buckeye Bahamas Hub terminal, Litwaton terminal A.K.A South Riding Point, Environmental Health and Grand Bahama shipyard.
