Tariff Review 2022 to include fuel surcharge

10 Jun 2022 / Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Abu Dhabi Terminals (ADT) is pleased to announce the completion of a comprehensive review of the container terminal tariff. The revised tariff has been approved by the relevant statutory bodies and will be effective from 10th July 2022. The ADT tariff is available for download on our website.

Despite the continued and significant cost pressure experienced by all parties in the supply chain, we are pleased to inform you that ADT has managed to avoid increasing tariff charges this year. This means that ADT continues to provide the highest level of productivity and service efficiencies while maintaining a very competitive cost structure in line with the port industry regionally.

We are also proud to announce the introduction of several new services which will further enhance the ease of doing business at ADT. These new services will provide customers with increased visibility and will further strengthen our already consistent and structured automated billing system. They also provide flexibility to the customers in managing their volumes by allowing them to assess the variety of options at their disposal when planning their shipments and vessels movements. Details of the new services can be found in the latest tariff document.

Regrettably, the current global geopolitical situation is driving a significant increase in fuel prices which directly lead to a drastic increase in ADT’s operating cost. So far, ADT has been able to absorb that cost increase through the identification and implementation of new process, cost, and consumption efficiencies. We have however unfortunately come to a point where this is no longer possible. Therefore, with effect from the implementation of this revised Tariff, ADT will introduce a Fuel Surcharge (Tariff item 101.2).

The Fuel surcharge will be applied to Import Full, Export Full, Import Empty and Export Empty containers at the rate of AED 55.00 per TEU. This charge will be billed in addition to the THC rates listed in tariff item 101.1. The Fuel Surcharge is subject to periodic reviews and adjustments guided by the prevalent Fuel prices, as published by the UAE Government.
