Suspension of sign-on/sign-off during monsoon

13 Apr 2021 / Paradip, India

As the sea condition during south-west monsoon seasons, i.e. from May to October, normally remains rough, sing-on/sign-off of crew at Paradip SPMs and anchorages will be completely avoided during the above period.

Only in dire exigencies, particularly medical emergencies, disembarkation from ships at SPMs and anchorages will be allowed on a case-by-case basis in presence of qualified doctor.

The boarding and disembarkation of Vetting Inspector, Surveyors attending to statutory Surveys & Superintendent may also be avoided. However, in case of unavoidable circumstances, they may be allowed to board and disembark when the vessel is underway.
