Suspension of service at two SPMs

23 Mar 2022 / Novorossiysk, Russia

Service at the Novorossiysk CPC SPM-2 has been suspended after underwater survey conducted yesterday (22 March) found damage to the inner sleeve of its floating hose. This damage does not allow safe loading operations.

It is estimated that it will take about three weeks to replace the hoses, but this depends on weather conditions, which are unfavourable in the coming days.

This follows the temporary decommissioning of SPM-3 for hose replacement and flushing. The terminal is waiting for tanker nomination for flushing of new hose mounted.

As SPM-1 is currently the only workable SPM at CPC, the terminal management has been forced to report a possible reduction in the volume of crude oil transportation in the near future.
