Due to the strike announced by labour union ver.di, no vessels will be able to enter the Kiel Canal during the affected period from 06:00 to 22:00 hours local time tomorrow (24 March).
This applies to all vessels, west- and east-bound.
Vessels already inside the Canal may proceed in both directions to the North and Baltic Seas.
Kiel Canal Traffic Control will issue updated allocation plans starting from 22:00 hours local time today (23 March) for all outgoing vessels to leave the waterway by single traffic routing.
Delays up to several hours are to be expected.
