Strike at country’s biggest container port

The Port of Felixstowe has issued an operational update advising that Unite the union has announced strike action at Britain’s busiest container port from 21-29 August.

The Port has removed bookings during this period, and will provide further updates about extending opening times in the lead up to the stoppages.

There is a contingency plan in place to maximise operational activity, but the level of service is subject to staff attendance on each shift.
