State of emergency declared

13 Jul 2022 / Sri Lanka

The government of Sri Lanka has today (13 July) declared a state of emergency and imposed a curfew in the Western Province of the country, in order to maintain calm. The Prime Minister has assumed duties of the President, following the announcement that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has left the island.

All port operations and related services are functioning as usual without interruptions, despite the state of emergency and curfew.

All GAC offices in Sri Lanka are also operating as normal, without any disruptions.
