Start of indefinite strike deferred

Group C and D employees of all India’s major ports have deferred the start of their threatened indefinite strike from today (15 December) to 6 January 2022.

The strike has been called to protect and secure their rights and privileges amid concern about the implementation of the Major Port Authorities Act, 2021, and the repealing of the Major Port Trust Act, 1963.
