SJC2 submarine cable system seaward duct installation works at Changi Landing

Works to install an SJC2 submarine cable system duct is being conducted in the East Johor Straits until 5 September.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.35 of 2024, the works are being carried out 24 hours daily - including Sundays & Public Holidays - within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1 01°23.321’N / 104°00.241’E
2 01°23.210’N/ 104°00.025’E
3 01°23.156’N / 104°00.042’E
4 01°23.274’N / 104°00.267’E

A work barge accompanied by a tugboat, will be deployed to perform the works.

All vessels are required to keep clear by at least 300m from the work barges operating in the area.

A safety boat will be in attendance all times to warn passing craft to keep clear of the working area.

Craft involved in the works exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 21 (Sembawang Control);
and
e) Communicate with Sembawang Control on VHF Channel 21 for assistance, if required.
