Shortage of stevedores

19 Mar 2020 / Peru

Some Peruvian ports are experiencing shortages of stevedores due the COVID-19 emergency status declared on 16 March and the 20:00-05:00 curfew put into force on 18 March, until 30 March.

Matarani halted operations today (19 March), probably until the end of March. ILO (Enapu) stopped operations yesterday evening (18 March), again until the end of the month.

Paita, Salaverry, Chimbote, Callao and Pisco are currently reported to be operating as normal.
