Shipping movements halted due to weather

Shipping movements have been suspended at Port Kembla due to severe weather conditions affecting the Illawarra coast with mean wind speeds of 30+knots, gusting to 40+ knots and mean wave heights of 3.5m, maximum wave height of 6.5m.

The Port Authority will monitor conditions closely, reassessing at 0800 hours local time tomorrow (2 April) if conditions do not improve overnight.
