Severe cyclonic storm makes landfall

Cyclone Nisarga has made landfall as a 'Severe Cyclonic Storm' in Maharashtra affecting the coastal districts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Gujarat and other neighboring states.

Maharashtra, Gujarat, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli have been put on high alert as some parts of these two states and the union territories fall on the path of the cyclone.

The Meteorological Department has warned of one to two metre-high storm surges. Goa, Ratnagiri, Alibaug have reported heavy raining.

All ports in Gujarat have hoisted warning signal DW-II, LC-III in south Maharashtra-Goa coast & LW-IV for north Maharashtra coast.

All vessel movements, port operations suspended. Vessels at berth shifted to safe anchorage.

DAHEJ/HAZIRA, SIKKA/PIPAVAV, KANDLA/MUNDRA & MORMUGOA:
Vessel/Port operations normal.
