With effect from midnight on Saturday 25 April, the Southern Transitional Council (STC) has declared self-administration in the former South Yemen.
A State of Emergency was announced in the former southern capital city of Aden and, in the late hours of Friday night, military forces affiliated to the STC took control of the central bank, the national oil company and other Government facilities.
Amidst these developments, the port of Aden remains open and operational as normal.
