Sediment sampling works at Nim Wan, Deep Bay

For approximately five months, sediment sampling works will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (P) and the adjacent shorelines:

(B) 22° 25.296’N 113° 54.816’E
(C) 22° 25.351’N 113° 54.768’E
(D) 22° 25.409’N 113° 55.085’E
(E) 22° 25.484’N 113° 55.368’E
(F) 22° 25.477’N 113° 55.569’E
(G) 22° 25.561’N 113° 55.818’E
(H) 22° 25.553’N 113° 55.945’E
(I) 22° 25.608’N 113° 56.112’E
(J) 22° 25.678’N 113° 56.087’E
(K) 22° 25.706’N 113° 56.180’E
(L) 22° 25.592’N 113° 56.220’E
(M) 22° 25.461’N 113° 55.809’E
(N) 22° 25.466’N 113° 55.807’E
(O) 22° 25.420’N 113° 55.587’E
(P) 22° 25.411’N 113° 55.589’E

The works will be carried out by one jack-up barge and one work boat. One tugboat and one guard boat will provide assistance. Vessels engaged in the works will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

A working area of approximately 30 metres will be established around each working vessel. Yellow flashing lights will be installed at the four corners of the barge to indicate its position.

The hours of work will be from 0800 to 1800 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works area outside the hours of work.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
