Sea warning issued

Taiwan has issued a sea warning for Typhoon Gaemi.

According to the latest data in the warning issued at 00:00 hours local time today (23 July), the intensity of Typhoon No. 3 has increased slightly and the storm circle has also expanded slightly.

It is currently centered on the sea southeast of Eluanbi, moving from north to west to northwest, and its storm circle is gradually approaching the Bashi Strait and the eastern part of Taiwan. The southern sea will pose a threat to New Taipei, Yilan, Hualien and Taitung; it is expected that the intensity of this typhoon will still increase in the future and the storm circle will tend to expand.

New Taipei, Yilan, Hualien, and Taitung should be on strict alert.

Vessels sailing and operating in the Bashi Strait, southeastern Taiwan waters, northeastern Taiwan waters, and northern Taiwan waters should be on strict alert.
