Vessel traffic in Dardanelles was suspended in both directions at 07:35 hours local time today (11 March) due to the salvage operation for a vessel that ran aground.
The 142m vessel ran aground during her southbound transit of the Dardanelles near south of Kilitbahir Point at 04:20 hours local time, and tug boats have been sent to the scene.
Salvage operations are due to be completed, after which northbound vessel traffic will resume at 12:30 hours local time.
