Revised deslopping tariff in force

12 Oct 2020 / Fujairah, Khorfakkan & Kalba Anchorage, United Arab Emirates

Due to rising costs prompted by the COVID-19 crisis, Emirates Marine and Environment Protection Company (EMEPCO) have revised their tariff for liquid slops reception services at Fujairah, Khorfakkan, and Kalba Anchorage.

EMEPCO charges US$2000/- as service charge in case the net recovered dry oil is less than 50 metric tons.

For quantities more than 50 metric tons net recovered oil, they pay US$ 55/-per metric ton.

For wash water up to 400 metric tons, a charge of US$ 4.00/- per metric ton applies. For 400 to 2000 metric tons, the charges is US$ 8.00/- per metric ton applies and for over 2000 metric tons, a charge of US$ 12.00/- per metric ton applies.

If the total time the barge spends alongside chartered vessel does not exceed 4 hours from the time the barge is alongside the vessel, the above tariff applies. Any additional time over 4 hours will be charged at the rate of US$ 300/hour.

During the operation representative samples have to be taken from the oil quantity received and same signed - stamped and sealed by both Masters. These samples are sent to an independent laboratory for analysis, results of which shall be binding on both parties. As soon as laboratory results are received, the net oil quantity is calculated and accounts will be settled accordingly. Independent laboratory charges will be 100% on EMEPCO’s account. If additional quality and quantity surveyor is required by the vessel to attend, charges will be on 50/50 basis.

If the vessel requires to dispose E/R bilge/sludge concurrently with cargo slops, a service charge of US$ 2000.00/- applies.

If the vessel will dispose E/R bilge/sludge only, there will be a US$ 3000.00/- service charge (no sampling service applies for e/r bilge/sludge at EMEPCO’s cost).

At least 48 hours’ notice is required prior attending any vessel.

EMEPCO does not provide pump for any operation and can only receive slops/sludge in liquid or pumpable form generated from petroleum products.

The revised tariff is in effect since September 2020.
