Retrieval & installation of submarine cables at SFA interconnection site

Until 3 June, work is being conducted to retrieve and install submarine cables at the SFA interconnection site.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.38 of 2025, the work is being carried out 24 hours daily – including Sundays and Public Holidays – at sea, within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01°27.593'N / 103°47.026'E
2) 01°27.817'N / 103°47.380'E
3) 01°27.687'N / 103°47.457'E
4) 01°27.461'N / 103°47.108’E

Retrieval and installation of an underwater power cable are being carried out by work and crane barges with the assistance of tugboats.

A safety boat is in attendance at all times to warn and direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of working area.

Craft involved in the works exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch oh VHF Channel 21 (Sembawang Control); and communicate with Sembawang Control on VHF Channel 21 for assistance, if required.
