03 Feb 2022 / Denmark
On 1 February, Denmark lifted restrictions to prevent the spread of Covid-19, including social distancing and the requirement to wear facemasks. However, measures remain for travellers entering the country.
Vaccinated and previously infected travellers with proof of vaccination may enter without testing or isolation.
Travelers from EU/Schengen countries who have not been vaccinated or previously infected must be tested within 24 hours of entry, unless they have a negative Covid-test taken within either 48 hours (Antigen) or 72 hours (PCR) prior to traveling.
Those entering from Covid-19 risk countries are required to test within 24 hours of entry. This applies even if they have had a test taken before entry.
Those entering from Covid-19 high-risk countries are required to isolate. They must take a test and self-isolate upon entry.
All countries that are not EU/Schengen-countries or mentioned on Denmark's list of COVID-19 risk countries are considered COVID-19 high-risk countries. If entering from a COVID-19 high-risk country, travellers must self-isolate for 10 days without undue delay and take a test within 24 hours of entry. They may end the isolation with a negative PCR test taken at the earliest on the sixth day after entry.
Seafarers are exempt from the isolation requirement.
Details of the procedures now in force for travel to Denmark can be found at https://en.coronasmitte.dk/travel-rules/covidtravelrules
Facemasks are still recommended at hospitals and similar places. Private companies are allowed to apply restrictions covering e.g., social distancing, working from home and requirements for showing proof of vaccination.
