All official institutions and banks in Turkey will close from 12:00 hours local time on Thursday (28 October) through to 09:00 hours local time on Monday 1 November, due a national holiday marking the country’s Republic Day.
Vessel owners and operators are urged to make arrangements for any spares, provisions, etc during this time in good time.
Further, some ports may suspend operations for the holiday or increase the tariff for official services such as pilotage, towage, mooring, customs by 50%. Therefore, please check prior to calling at any Turkish port during this period. A 50% pilotage surcharge will apply in the Turkish Straits between these dates.
