The Suez Canal Authority has decided to renew the following rebate circulars, which were previously due to expire on 30 June 2021. They will now remain in force until 31 December 2021.
For Bulk Carriers and Tankers:
Suez Canal Authority Circular No.2/2017 & its renewing and amending periodical issued on 13 November 2019, concerning laden or ballast “Dry Bulk” vessels operating between Australian ports and ports at North West Europe (starting from CADIZ port and its Northern ports).
40% rebate
- From/to North West Europe (starting from CADIZ port and its Northern ports)
- To/from ports located at North West of CAIRNS port and ending with DARWIN port
65% rebate
- From/to North West Europe (starting from CADIZ port and its Northern ports)
- To/from ports located at the West of DARWIN port till before GERALDTON port
75% rebate
- From/to North West Europe (starting from CADIZ port and its Northern ports)
- To/from ports located at the South West, South and East of Australia which starts at GERALDTON port at the South West of Australia and ending at Cairns
For Tankers:
Suez Canal Authority Circular No.1/2018 & its renewing and amending periodical issued on 12 November 2019, concerning “Crude Oil” tankers (Laden or Ballast), operating between ports of the (US Gulf, Caribbean area & Latin America) and Asian ports.
40% rebate
- From/to US Gulf area
- To/from ports West of Indian subcontinent (starting from Karachi till Cochin at the west of India)
75% rebate
- From/to US Gulf area
- To/from ports Eastern ports of Cochin Port
75% rebate
- From/to ports of Latin America Starting from Colombia (South of San Andres Island- Latitude 12o 34' 40'' N)
- Asian ports starting from Karachi port and its eastern ports
Suez Canal Authority Circular No.03/2016 & its amending periodicals issued on 12 November 2019 and 27 September 2020, concerning VLCCs (of DWT more than 250,000 tons) that transit the Suez Canal after discharging part of their cargo in “SUMED” pipeline on their round trip coming from the Arabian Gulf, heading to the American Gulf or the Caribbean zone.

Rebates will be deducted Transit tolls and confirmed after all rebate documents are submitted, a maximum one year from transit date.
Rebate forms should be submitted to the Suez Canal Authority prior to transit.
