Remotely controlled navigation system test & manoeuvres

From 7 to 11 March and from 28 to 31 March, remotely controlled navigation test and manoeuvres will be conducted off Raffled Reserved Anchorage (ARAFA).

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.016 Of 2022, the tests and manoeuvres will be carried out between 0700 and 2030 hours daily within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01° 10.111'N / 103° 45.167'E
2) 01° 11.337'N / 103° 46.671'E
3) 01° 10.832'N / 103° 47.017'E
4) 01° 09.772'N / 103° 45.374'E

Craft will conduct remotely controlled navigation system tests and maneuvers during stated period in the working area. The vessel will be remotely controlled using 4G network from Shore Command Centre.

Crew onboard will take over control of the vessel in the event of an emergency.

The activities will be suspended during the movements of Very Large Crude Carriers to SHELL Single Buoy Mooring.

A safety boat will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (West Control);
and
e) Communicate with West Control on VHF Channel 68 for assistance, if required.
