Reconstruction works for Yung Shue Wan Public Pier

For approximately 36 months, reconstruction works for Yung Shue Wan Public Pier will be carried out in the following works areas:

WORKS AREA 1
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (E) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22° 13.592’N / 114° 06.542’E
(B) 22° 13.616’N / 114° 06.527’E
(C) 22° 13.634’N / 114° 06.563’E
(D) 22° 13.624’N / 114° 06.568’E
(E) 22° 13.625’N / 114° 06.571’E

WORKS AREA 2
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (F) to (J) and the adjacent shoreline:
(F) 22° 13.616’N / 114° 06.611’E
(G) 22° 13.606’N /114° 06.609’E
(H) 22° 13.587’N / 114° 06.618’E
(I) 22° 13.552’N / 114° 06.550’E
(J) 22° 13.576’N / 114° 06.536’E

The works will be carried out by one dumb lighter. One tug will provide assistance. Vessels engaged in the works will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

A working area of approximately 35 metres around the lighter will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the lighter.

A silt curtain, extending from the sea surface to the seabed, will be established beside the lighter within the works areas. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the extent of the silt curtain.

The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works areas outside the hours of work.

Diving operations will be carried out from time to time during the hours of work.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear of the works areas at slow speed, bearing in mind there are divers working in the areas.
