Works to re-install floating barriers off Changi Beach are being carried out until 31 March 2025.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.93 of 2024, the works are being conducted between 0800 and 1900 hours local time daily - including Sundays and public holidays - in the vicinity of Kuala Johor, within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 1° 23.272'N / 104° 0.144'E
2) 1° 23.289'N / 104° 0.172'E
3) 1° 23.192'N / 104° 0.233'E
4) 1° 23.174'N / 104° 0.206'E
The reinstallation works of the floating sea barriers will be carried out by crane barge assisted by tugboats.
A safety boat will be always deployed to warn and re-direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of the working area.
Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate day and night signals.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 21 (Sembawang Control);
and
e) Communicate with Sembawang Control on VHF Channel 21 for assistance, if required.
