Rat guards required for mooring

16 Jun 2020 / Djibouti

Ships entering and berthing all ports of the Republic of Djibouti must now be equipped with rat guards for mooring operations.

This is in line with the directive from the International Maritime Organisation which aims to limit the spread of exotic rats and to protect ecosystem.

Failure to comply with these instructions will result in the implementation of sanctions from Harbour Master office.
