Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Barge Drive

On Sunday 18th September 2022, two Thames Barge Driving events will take place.

The First is scheduled to start in the vicinity of Temple Pier at 1200 and be completed at a finish line at Tower Bridge by 1230. This will consist of three Barges plus support vessels.

The Second is scheduled to start in the vicinity of St Georges Stairs at 1430 and be completed at a finish line at Westminster Bridge by 1530. This will consist of four Barges plus support vessels.

Barges involved in this event will have limited maneuverability and will be accompanied by a number of safety and support vessels.

Masters of vessels navigating throughout the event should navigate at a safe speed, paying particular attention to their wash.

When necessary, Local Traffic Control will be conducted from an attending Harbour Service Launch, Call Sign prefix “THAMES PATROL”.

Further information regarding each event will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 14.
