Price revisions for water supplied to vessels in port

PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency has announced that water prices will be revised in two phases on 1 April 2024 and 1 April 2025, to reflect the rising costs of producing and supplying water.

This is intended to encourage water conservation to achieve a sustainable growth in water demand.

The cost of producing and supplying water has increased substantially since the last price revision in 2017 and PUB will continue to take active cost mitigation measures. Businesses are encouraged to adopt water conservation practices as well.

To reflect the price revision of the first phase on 1 April 2024, the Water Charges, Waterborne Tax (WBT) and Water Conservation Tax (WCT) in respect of water supplied to vessels in Port of Singapore will accordingly increase as follows, with effect from 1 April 2024:

Water Charges* ($/kilolitre)
- Price for water supplied to vessels via pipelines (Current): 7.00
- Price for water supplied to vessels via pipelines (Revised): 7.11

Water Conservation Tax ($/kilolitre)
- Price for water supplied to vessels via pipelines (Current): 0.96
- Price for water supplied to vessels via pipelines (Revised): 1.02

Waterborne Tax ($/kilolitre)
- Price for water supplied to vessels via pipelines (Current): 0.92
- Price for water supplied to vessels via pipelines (Revised): 1.00

Total ($/kilolitre)
- Price for water supplied to vessels via pipelines (Current): 8.88
- Price for water supplied to vessels via pipelines (Revised): 9.13
Increase of $0.25 compared to current

* This refers to the water charges rate for the first 50 kilolitres of water supplied.

The second phase of the price revision in the Water Charges, Waterborne Tax and Water Conservation Tax will take effect from 1 April 2025 and details will be announced at a later date.
