Precautions for airlines to prevent COVID-19 outbreak

Some mandatory preventive measures have been added for airlines coming to Saudi Arabia from countries where several cases of this virus [COVID-19] have been detected.

Instructions:

  1. Suspending entry to the Kingdom for the purpose of Umrah and visiting the Prophet’s Mosque temporarily.
  2. Suspending entry into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for only passengers coming from countries in which the spread of the new Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a danger (China (People’s Rep.), Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong (SAR China), Iran, Italy., Korea (Rep.), Macao (SAR China), Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Philippines, Singapore, India, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Somalia and Vietnam).
    - This applies for Tourism visa only.
  3. Nationals of the GCC countries are no longer allowed to enter Saudi Arabia with a national ID card. They must travel with their passports except for passengers entered the country with their national ID and they are wishing to return to their home country.
  4. Passengers who have been in China (People’s Rep.), Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong (SAR China), Iran, Italy, Korea (Rep.) and Macao (SAR China), in the past 14 days are not allowed to enter Saudi Arabia.
  5. Aircraft crew of national carriers will be allowed to enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regardless of their nationalities.
  6. Any transit passenger who had been in one of the 25 countries mentioned in this circular in the last 14 days is not going to be allowed to enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  7. Any transfer passenger who had been in one of 25 countries mentioned in this circular in the last 14 days is not going to be allowed to enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  8. Any passenger who has a valid residence permit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia even if he does not spend 14 days outside of infected countries can enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is subjected to examination at ports.
  9. All passengers are responsible for returning their Umrah passengers at the specified time of departure.
