Power station workers’ strike

25 Apr 2025 / Tuticorin, India

Cargo operations at the NTPL-owned jetty at Tuticorin Port (NCB-I) are affected by an indefinite strike by contract workers at the NPTL Thermal Power Station, who are also staging a demonstration in front of the plant near the harbour area.

Operations for a vessel at the jetty have been suspended, while another vessel carrying coal is waiting at anchorage.

Cargo operations at all other berths at Tuticorin are taking place as usual.
