Ports closed ahead of Beryl landfall

08 Jul 2024 / Texas, United States

Most Texas ports - including Corpus Christi, Galveston, Freeport and Houston - have been closed in anticipation of Hurricane Beryl making landfall in the United States today (8 July).

Beryl is currently still downgraded as a Tropical Storm but is projected to increase into a Category 1 or 2 hurricane before landfall tomorrow morning between Corpus and Freeport.
