The ports of Dampier, Ashburton, Cape Preston West and Varanus Island are at Cyclone Stage 1 – Monitor, as Severe Tropical Cyclone Errol moves to the east southeast.
The system has weakened to Category 3 intensity and is expected to continue towards the west Kimberley coast, crossing overnight Friday between Cape Leveque and Cockatoo Island.
Errol is likely to weaken rapidly during the remainder of today and Friday. It is expected to weaken below tropical cyclone strength as it crosses the coast.
Based on the current weather forecast, operations may resume on Saturday subject to further weather updates.
