Port tariff discount

Rio de Janeiro Port Authority has published Ordinance 252-2023 establishing a discount over the present port tariff, effective from 7 July and for a period of 120 days.

TARIFF I:
Access channel and waterway facilities utilisation charge - Item 2 – charged over vessel DWT (charges will suffer a 10% increase in case of cargo importation).
2.1 – For long haul vessels loading, discharging, or bunkering only.
2.1.3 – Dry bulk: DWT x BRL 3,82 - 61.7% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 9,98
2.1.4 – Liquid: DWT x BRL 0,86 - 44% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 1,54
2.1.5.1 – Petroleum: DWT x BRL 0,56 - 61% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 1,43
2.1.5.2 – Petroleum derivates or other fuels: DWT x BRL 1,66 - 42.1% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 2,86
2.1.9 – No cargo operation, excluding bunker: DWT x BRL 0,25 - 62.4% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 0,66 (Suezmax now about USD 8.889 for a clearance only call)
2.1.9 – Exclusive for bunkering only/repairs: DWT x BRL 0.53 - DWT range up to 10.000 / 19.7% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 0.66
2.1.9 – Exclusive for bunkering only/repairs: DWT x BRL 0.36 - DWT range 10.001 up to 25.000 / 45.5% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 0.66
2.1.9 – Exclusive for bunkering only/repairs: DWT x BRL 0.15 - DWT range 25.001 up to 50.000 / 77.3% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 0.66
2.1.9 – Exclusive for bunkering only/repairs: DWT x BRL 0.05 - DWT range 50.001 up to 80.000 / 92.4% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 0.66
2.1.9 – Exclusive for bunkering only/repairs: DWT x BRL 0.02 - DWT range 80.001 and above / 97% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 0.66 (Suezmax now about USD 712 for a bunkering call)
2.2 – For cabotage or coastal navigation vessels loading, discharging, or bunkering only.
2.2.3 – Dry bulk: DWT x BRL 3,05 - 61.8% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 7,99
2.2.4 – Liquid: DWT x BRL 0,61 - 50.3% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 1,23
2.2.5.1 – Petroleum: DWT x BRL 0,45 - 60.8% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 1,14
2.2.5.2 – Petroleum derivates or other fuels: DWT x BRL 1,20 - 47.8% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 2,29
2.2.9 – No cargo operation, excluding bunker: DWT x BRL 0,20 - 62.5% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 0,53 (Suezmax now about USD 7.112 for a clearance only call)
2.2.9 – Exclusive for bunkering only/repairs: DWT x BRL 0,53 - DWT range up to 10.000 / No reduction
2.2.9 – Exclusive for bunkering only/repairs: DWT x BRL 0,36 - DWT range 10.001 up to 25.000 / 32.1% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 0.53
2.2.9 – Exclusive for bunkering only/repairs: DWT x BRL 0,15 - DWT range 25.001 up to 50.000 / 71.7% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 0.53
2.2.9 – Exclusive for bunkering only/repairs: DWT x BRL 0,05 - DWT range 50.001 up to 80.000 / 90.6% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 0.53
2.2.9 – Exclusive for bunkering only/repairs: DWT x BRL 0,02 - DWT range 80.001 and above / 96.2% reduction over the previous charge of BRL 0.53 (Suezmax now about USD 712 for bunkering call)
3 – Anchorage charge for long haul, cabotage, coastal navigation and supply/offshore vessels, applied for every 24 hours stay.
3.1 – DWT up to 10.000: BRL 1.572 - No reduction
3.2 – DWT from 10.001 to 25.000: BRL 2.400,77 - 23.6% reduction over previous charge of BRL 3.144 (Now about USD 534 per day)
3.3 – DWT from 25.001 to 50.000: BRL 2.741,74 - 41.9% reduction over previous charge of BRL 4.722 (Now about USD 610 per day)
3.4 – DWT from 50.001 to 80.000: BRL 3.774,16 - 36.8% reduction over previous charge of BRL 5.973 (Now about USD 839 per day)
3.5 – DWT from 80.001 and above: BRL 3.833,30 - 77.8% reduction over previous charge of BRL 17.291 (Now about USD 852 per day)

TARIFF II:
Wharfage, berthing utilization charge – Item 1 – Charged over vessel LOA (length overall), per hour or fraction.
1.1 – Per LOA, per hour or fraction, up to 48 hours stay
1.1.1 – Long haul vessel: BRL 1,58 - 35.6% reduction over previous charge of BRL 2,46
1.1.2 – Cabotage or coastal navigation: BRL 0,54 - 72.6% reduction over previous charge of BRL 1,96
1.2. – Per LOA, per hour or fraction, after 48 hours stay
1.2.1 – Long haul vessel: BRL 1,58 - 35.6% reduction over previous charge of BRL 2,46
1.2.2 – Cabotage or coastal navigation: BRL 0,54 - 35.6% reduction over previous charge of BRL 2,46

The above charges will be subject to 100% increase in case of no cargo operation.
